So one thing I love the most about this league if the friendship and also the willingness for people to give other people a fair go and see them do well.
I came into this game originally with the big S22 reddit class but it was a bit overwhelming so I left this bookmarked and said I'd come back to it another day. Realistically I'd probably just keep putting it off forever except somehow my retired kicker Banjo May somehow made his way onto the S22 NSFL draft board and I was picked up by the Baltimore Hawks in like round 500 of that draft. They reached out to me and started talking. I was super excited I just wished I could have unretired Banjo and been on that team straight away but obviously that can't happen so I made another kicker, Karmichael Hunt. As I am super unoriginal I based my character Australia's best athlete and subpar drug dealer and snitch.
Even though I couldn't be on their team though I remember a few people giving me a lot of help at the start cause I was pretty fucking clueless and had no idea what I'm doing. I honestly am so thankful for the people there in the start that spent the time to explain this game to me multiple times and through this I've got some people I'll be friends with forever.
As for giving people a fair go, at Kansas City Coyotes I was a waiver pickup by the GMs Star and Butters. They were both huge helps to me and another that helped a lot as a former kicker was Matty. In these first two seasons I was in the league I wasn't very good. I was kind of active on discord around game times and not much else. I didn't earn great TPE because I hated writing and still do. I'll do graphics forever but here we are writing. Towards the end of my second season there I was going to be called up to the Philadelphia Liberty. I was really excited about this but also sad to be leaving the Coyotes and some of the best people in this league. Towards the end of that season I just asked if I could stay around and help out and for some reason I am still unsure on but they added me to the war room.
Even straight away I didn't help out a whole heap with scouting that season, might be why we drafted so well. Bit by bit though kind of in a cart before the horse situation by them letting me into the war room and including me I got more and more active in the locker room which also improved my activity in other teams and leagues even. A bit later for different reasons both Butters and Matty stood down from GMing and put their faith in Glims and myself as the people to GM this amazing team and I am very thankful again to them for giving me a chance at the leagues best job.
So to sum it up I just love that in this league we are all friends and get along very well. It's kind of rare to see that in an online community. And I'll be thankful forever to all the people that have given me a crack at different things.
This also doesn't even touch on the great team, GMs and new friends I've made in Berlin and how accepting they've been on me. Love them all but this is long enough and I hate writing.
