It's pretty much been confirmed that I'm out of the running for OLotY yet again. I opened the season with 3 pancakes and 1 sack allowed in each of the first two games of the season, and allowing any sacks pretty much kills any shot at winning the award. Despite this, I've managed to rebound since then, and I currently have 29 pancakes without allowing any more sacks. The problem with this is that those two sacks came at the very beginning of the season. Knowing how well I tend to play, there will definitely be more in the future. The two sacks already moves me out of the running for winning the position, but high pancake numbers will probably be good enough to sneak me into the nominations if my sack total from changing. But, as I said, that's probably not going to happen. I just can't see the awards committee nominating an OL that's allowed 3+ sacks, so my chances at a nomination are pretty much dead. My best chance would be to take the pancake lead, or at least come close. That way the committee might consider me for a wide variety of stats (like nominating the TD leader, the high volume RB, the most efficient rusher, the best receiving back, etc.) to allow for different opinions among GMs, rather than deciding on their top five despite clearly superior/inferior players (ex. 60 pancakes with 0 sacks and 70 pancakes with 0 sacks both getting nominated).
