Early in the season, we can already see the trends that play out through the season. A major overreaction to a trend we have seen is that Berlin is not going to be able to make the playoffs. While they have tested extremely high, they do not have the sim luck required to make up the losses that occurred early in the season. Some might say that is not an overreaction to say that a two win team will not make the playoffs, but once you see the testing numbers that they have from the season, it becomes much more apparent how lucky being ‘good’ in the sim is compared to actually being good. Berlin does not have luck on their side to come back from their early season deficit. There are not a lot of teams that come back from falling to 2-5 and still somehow make the move to the playoffs. Any examples usually are well known lucky teams that follow the typical examples of “well the season tests show that they do well so it will come around.” Berlin, still being a new team, faces the unfortunate effect of some other teams that do not receive that luck regardless of how season tests go out.
