Is Boss Tweed due for a breakout season this year? Many people think so as evidence by his popularity in fantasy drafts this season. Tweed's rookie season was not statistically spectacular as he finished with 547 yards and 1 touchdown averaging 3.7 yards per carry. In Season 2's preseason, Tweed finished with 382 yards and 2 touchdowns averaging 3.9 yards per carry. Using Tweed's per game averages from the preseason, he would be projected to rush for 1337 yards and 7 touchdowns during Season 2, both of which would surpass the numbers that Bubba Nuck produced during his MVP season in Season 1. A four game sample size is not enough to make a truly accurate projection for Tweed's production, but we can at least see he is projected to have a much bigger season this year than he did last year. A big reason for this is Tweed's larger role in the Yeti's offense. The Yeti's running backs split carries three ways in Season 1 but Tweed has been receiving a lead back workload in the preseason so far. The Yeti's coaches have said that they were very impressed by Tweed's hard work during the off-season and they believe he is ready for a large role. Opposing players have commented that Tweed seems much more fast and athletic this year than he was last year, which has played a big role in his success so far this preseason. If Tweed continues his preseason success, he could blossom not only into one of the league's top running backs but potentially even into an MVP candidate.
