This is not the easiest thing as someone who has not been here all that long relative to the existence of the league, however I can say I think 2021 will be quite different from 2020 worldwide let alone in our little league. The big thing being the hopefully reduced need for quarantining and social distancing making a perfect storm like the S22 recruitment less likely. Although with how things have aligned that recruitment will happen during another surge in the US and in time for our switch to a new sim I could easily be proven wrong in that regard. How interesting would it be to have an even larger class than S22 join just in time for the sim change?
Based on what I have been told of the sim as someone who does not have it there are a few positions that should be dramatically impacted. One big thing I have been told is that TPE will apparently matter more at every position thanks in part to the addition of traits. This excites me as someone who plays a position where max TPE is not deemed essential as I will have an almost maxed player immediately despite the increased max TPE requirement. While playing a position that routinely sees DSFL capped players perform about as well statistically.
The lack of swift sim testing I think will also do a good job of improving parity. Although based on current standings I do not think that is a particularly daunting problem for the league at the moment. Overall though I expect 2021 to be a year of increased stability for the league compared to the explosive growth that it has seen in 2020.
