Ernest Lover has been training hard in his rookie season in the ISFL. With this being only his second season in the league (he was called-up from the DSFL right away), he has only just gotten used to the training regiment required of DEs in the current simulation environment. Over the season, he has been working hard to improve his strength, speed, agility, and tackling to help him hold the line of scrimmage. With the new season on the horizon, this offseason he will be focusing on and spending time to lose some bulk and improve his competitiveness. He’s looking to specialize in stopping the run game. Overall, Lover is extremely excited about all of the ways that he may build up his skills in the coming seasons and set himself apart from the other DEs on the field.
When it comes to the outlook for the league, I am optimistic that the greater balance and flexibility across archetypes and positions is going to mean there are not only more ways to build players, but also more ways to build teams. Early in the switchover, I think teams that have active and high-earning players in previously easy-to-cap positions like kicker and defensive line will see those positions make a bigger difference in their win potential.
