After reading this (and many other) writings about the awards process, its pretty clear many players have no idea how the awards process works. Every team has a representative on the awards committee, which submits a 5 player list for each award for the GMs and HO to vote on. We are subject to 60% rule and rules on inactivity. There are, at times, very spirited discussions about who should or should not be on the ballot.
I don't disagree that some of the rules don't make a lot of sense and maybe should be revisited, but the committee only works with the guidance given to us by HO and the GMs. If you have issues with how this works, the most effective way is to talk to your GMs and/or your team's committee representative instead of ranting about it here on the forums.
