Another way to put it. In a 3-4 the 3 DL all typically line up inside the tackles. In. 4-3 the 2 DTs are inside the tackles and the 2 DEs are outside the tackles. Therefore, 3-4 DE = 4-3 DT. In the real life picture below you can clearly see the 3-4 DEs line up inside the tackles. The pic of the sim that was posted is ridiculous. If that was really how the sim worked the offense would just run it down the middle easily every play and gain at least 5 yards a carry.
