I think anyone who’s been paying attention to the new sim and the affects it’s having on this ISFL season certainly has developed a few opinions about it, more so if you are involved in any sort of sim testing. Let’s start with some of the pros. First off, I think most players are liking the new trait system, as it allows more customization of your player’s build. I also like the new field designs. Of course, I like Yellowknife’s field designs the best. Some of the new stats that are available are cool, and the personality traits are hilarious. The index gives you a lot more access to stats and such than the old one. Now, let’s talk about the cons. The games are sloooow, and the display format during the sim streams are very hard to follow in my opinion. If you’ve actually messed with the sim at all, the constant loading between every screen is extremely frustrating. As far as player performance, I was delighted my first game to score 2 TD’s, a rarity for a tight end. Of course, my second game was me doing little. So far it has been hit or miss. I know the sim transition team has put in a lot of hard work making the switch, and I hope that some of the issues can be resolved eventually, but some of them are native to this sim and never going away. Such is the life of sim football.
