I feel like the league as a whole will profit from the sim change due to a multitude of reasons. First and foremost the thing that comes to my attention the most is the possibility of modified game fields. I think there are some fields that look fantastic! As a whole the simulations looks much nicer, you can now keep up with the quarterbacks passing the ball. Also the animations in general seem much smoother.
I heard from few people around the league that they didn't like the sim change because due to changed mechanics the outcome of the season is quite unforseeable. I see this as a positive thing and i don't think that too much is going to change. The powerhouse teams will certainly not have a massive drop in performance and wins.
I also really like the fact that it got far harder for teams to sim test. With the old sim, where every mistakes in the logic was getting used and abused, there was a meta on how to create a player. You knew from the beginning which archetypes perform best. That is a real positive point for me.
I hope that sim testing will be quite limited in the future, as this keeps the grinding factor a bit out of the sim league experience.
