It is tough for me to compare the experience of watching a DDSPF16 and the experience of watching the new sim as just joined the league this season, but from what I can tell from watching old games, I really enjoy the pace of the new sim. I know it is slower and a lot of people complain about that, but it makes me feel like we can pay attention to every play a little bit more. It is still early to tell how the player performance and stats will look when comparing both engines, but it sure seems like the running game has been downsized a little bit and even as a RB I don’t think that should be such a huge issue. In the NFL we can see the game changing its culture very rapidly as teams become more pass-happy offenses and I think the timing of the sim change actually makes it seem like that is what could be happening in the once too run-heavy ISFL. Maybe it’s a sign of the things to come and a way to show that the sport is in constant change, which would require a new way to look at the league and this feeling of trying to figure out thing together with the old-timers actually makes me feel good!
