So I have not seen a game in the new sim yet. I don't actually watch the sims that often. Last season I think I watched two three games. But since I have to for this PT, I will sit down and watch a game while giving my first thoughts. The first thing I like is how much easier it easy to see what happended on a play with the grey box in the upper right corner. It was kind of hard to read an outcoome of the play in the last sim.
The customized fields are also great and give each team their own character which I like. The fact that the stats are also there in the bottom left is great. The crowd reactions after a big defensive ply r are good as well. I'm not sure if they were in the last sim but they're cool. I will also say each player having their own dedicated stats page is probably the best addition that's been made since switching sims. That's rteally awesome and I'm going to have a lot of fun looking over those pages as a stat nerd. Of course as a new user and one that's kind of casual, I don't know enough about how the old engine worked to really critque what has changed with the new engine when it comes to a play-by-play basis.
