Things have been very interesting to start the new season. The New York Silverbacks came out of the gate strong, winning their first three games. We've stumbled lately, however, losing the last two and putting us at a 3-2 record after five weeks. There are things I definitely enjoy about the new sim and there are some things that I could do without.
On the positive side, I really like how much cleaner the visuals are in the new sim. Being able to actually see the ball in the air makes a huge difference. And the "gameplay" itself just seems smoother (for lack of a better term). The fields look great as well. Major props to everyone who came up with them.
Of course, there are cons as well. For me, the games just take too long. Way too long. Being on a team that is regularly on the back half of the weekly schedule means waiting up to an hour from the time the stream starts until the time our team kicks off. I can't even imagine watching every game and spending over an hour and a half an evening three times a week watching dots. But hey, maybe that's just me.
Overall I think things are going well with the sim switch. There are always going to be hiccups but I'm confident that the people working behind the scenes will continue to put out something enjoyable that just gets better with time.
