We are powering through the season and I would say on the offensive side of things, one stand out player would be Tatsu Nakamura. With 11 games gone by as I write this, Nakamura is the league leader in rushing yards with 1197, with several games to go and over 1000 yards already that is an insane clip. Also Nakamura leads the rushing leaders in touchdowns with 12 (tied with a few others) but that is insane numbers to be putting up. I would say they would be in line for offensive player of the year or maybe MVP. They are in line to have a massive season if they keep up the average of 100+ yards a game. They may have some tough competition for MVP against someone like Slothlisberger who is having a great season at QB with massive stats also.
On the defensive side of things I think the stand out is Witten from NOLA. With an astonishing 86 tackles at the corner back position and boasting other remarkable stats like 2 forced fumbles, 5 interceptions and 19 passes deflected. Witten is in a great position to earn some defensive honors. Defensive awards are always tricky to guess as with many different positions and goals it can be hard to weight certain stats in certain ways.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out and if anyone has a breakout couple of games.
