I mean... who else am I gonna talk about in this point task other than my own player? Really? Did you see the turnaround since last season? We're talking about going from literally five receptions last season to five touchdowns and almost 700 yards with five games to play, making it entirely possible (though admittedly unlikely) that Delacour breaks a thousand receiving yards this season. That's breakout player numbers right there. Shit, if Chicago hadn't agreed to the call-up and had tried to get Delacour to play another year in the DSFL, he'd possibly be a front-runner for rookie of the year.
If we're being realistic here, this is Delacour's rookie season in the ISFL. His involvement last season was effectively non-existent, through no fault of his own, and when comparing to other rookies this year, there's only really one or two rookies on offense you can realistically argue are playing better. The best rookie running back is Cobra Kai, whose return of 361 yards (at an average of almost 5 YPC) and a touchdown so far this season is very commendable for a rookie, but not really comparable to Delacour's overall contribution. One of the two rookie quarterbacks has a passer rating over 100 and 20 touchdowns to 7 interceptions... but under 3k yards, with only two other quarterbacks attempting fewer passes so far this season; hard to argue they're making waves. The other is Jackie Daytona, who has an alarming TD:INT ratio of 15:13 but is fourth in the league for passing yards right now despite playing for the second-worst team in the league. The best rookie receiver is probably Mario Messi, whose numbers are a little behind Delacour's but from noticeably fewer receptions, suggesting better efficiency and making him a possible shout over Delacour in this hypothetical award race.
Not that any of this matters because Delacour is not a rookie. Maybe we should have a sophomore of the year award... lol.
