Following Week 11, I think it is safe to say that Clark Boyd is out of contention for a Tight End of the Year nominee. Oh well. I guess that's what being 10th in receiving yards gets you. Nowhere. Granted, he's still tied for 1st among tight ends on pancakes, but that won't swing him into the top 4 or 5. Maybe next year.
I think the winner this year will wind up being none other than Austin McCormick of the New Orleans Second Line. He leads TEs for receiving yards, and has a better average than the rest of the top 10. He might not be dominant on the offensive line, but that shouldn't stop him from running away with the award if he keeps his production this high.
Fellow Fire Salamander Joseph Petrongolo could, in my opinion, swing a nomination for Running Back of the Year. He's currently 7th in terms of rushing yards, but beats out 3 backs ahead of him in revceiving yards. With total yardage brought into account, he could place in the top 5, and earn himself a nomination. It would be well deserved, considering he's scored all 7 of Berlin's rushing TDs and account for more than 700 of our total 820 rushing yards.
Though our defense has been the reason for our few successes, I don't think that any individual players are statistically successful enough from our squad to win any positional awards. Unfortunate, but likely the case. The same can be said for Nick Kaepercolin, the QB doing his damnedest despite the sim hating on the team. He's currently the only quarterback with a completion percentage under 60, but still sits in the top half of quarterbacks by passing yards and has throw the 3rd least interceptions. In fact, he has the 2nd-highest pass attempts. I would argue that Kaepercolin would be considered elite, if only his receivers (myself included) weren't holding him back.
