Now Honky Tonk is used to being approached for autographs or commercial reads throughout his daily life, but recently he was presented with a brand new, unique opportunity. After Haywood’s critically acclaimed performance on a Philadelphia car dealership commercial, he’s been angling for more TV gigs. Well finally he was approached for Philadelphia public access TV to film a show that explores the lives of Southerners living in the great city of brotherly love. A show called Cheesesteak Chaps. The pilot episode will include a peak into Haywood’s downtown Philadelphia apartment along with a camera crew (one man with a hand held) who will follow Haywood around to his favorite barbeque joint and country bar in the city. While episode two will feature Andie Summers and a look into Philadelphia’s country station, 92.5 XTU, the plan is to bring the two men together for an episode, perhaps with Haywood performing a song live, on-air. The show’s conclusion will follow a group of country music fans, ideally to include Haywood, to a Chris Stapleton show at Lincoln Financial Field. While signs point to a recipe for a very interesting television show debut for Haywood, word on the street is production is being held up as Haywood was only recently informed he would not be able to be filmed drinking on the show. Stay tuned for more updates.
