I don't really know if there's a stigma around signing minimum contracts. I think the majority of users are in the mindset of, "I want to help the team!"

Does that skew things in favor of the teams and GMs? Absolutely. At the same time though, if you're having fun why wouldn't you want to do what you can to hang out with your friends.

I do think we have a stigma here around the general idea of player movement; but, that's neither here nor there.
