When I got an email from one of the Producers of Practical Matter Films saying that "We want you, Jacob Small, to star in a small supporting role in our upcoming action film", the first 2 things I thought about were, "why do they want me?", and "do they know how silly a Kiwi accent sounds in a movie?". I replied saying that "I think it would be a fantastic opportunity but what would my part in the film be?" when in reality I was so excited that I would accept anything just to be in front of the camera!
It was another two days before I received a reply they said if you can fly up to Chicago on one of the Sarasota bye weeks or offseason that would be fantastic as they would be filming up there for the next five months, finally I found an available week and few up there for this exciting opportunity. When I finally arrived I learned that I would be playing the role of a lead gang member who gets to fight the good guys and while the bad guys don't win... wait for it... MY CHARACTER DOESN'T DIE! Can anyone say spin-off? Who knows, maybe I'll switch sides or I'll be the good guy in the next film if I'm lucky.
