I think some of the points you brought up were good, 37th, your plan certainly needs some more tweaking, and I actually am very fond of Sid's plan regarding a "minimum" tier, that calculates based off of the last update of the season. But without expansion none of this is viable. As we see more S21 & S22 players retire, holes will definitely open for some of these younger players, even if that means a huge casualty to the DSFL. Which I think isn't necessarily bad for the league. In a perfect environment, the DSFL wouldn't even have to exist, so the less, the better. Here's to hoping HO expands swiftly, and with it comes a new cap and minimum contract theory.
Alot of the points or suggestions have been discussed in HO, and anymore that come we will definitely consider so its great to see alot of conversation that is constructive on this topic.
You bring up to me what is the number one reason why cap should hold and probably why to delay expansion, the S22 class. They right now are at their peak and so will be as expensive as ever, and being still such a large number of spots on a team, this will squeeze cap. However as they regress and GMs make use of options to just re-sign them for less money, cap space will start to open up for all teams and I think we all agree it would be better to hold and see how it goes whilst its possible to work with the current cap than to raise it and then decide to lower, as GMs would rightfully plan on maximising the cap and probably be in strife it was then going to be reduced with locked in contracts.
And then on the E-word front, Imo once the S22 classs starts regressing and retiring, those spots will open up and willl improve some of the issues that new players face in getting a spot. It may hurt the DSFL but nothing can really be done about that, E-ing would have made it an even bleaker reality for them, but this was always going to come about one day. On the flip side, having such a large class starting to retire and re-create will also hopefully bring some consistent numbers in draft class across the next couple seasons, so that will definitely help the E argument.
Again, just wanna say that ideas are always welcomed and HO is always watching threads like this. If anyone wants to speaks things more I will gladly lend you an ear on discord and if something seems viable, raise it as a possible work to HO. The economy in this league is such a large and all-encompassing issue, that the more people talk and discuss it, the more likely we can come up with the best and right solution to it.
