As a recent college graduate about to enter the wide world of professional football, Dante King isn't exactly working with the highest profile possible for a media engagement. Although he has dreams of achieving a level of stardom that will let him reach the heights of sports idols before him, like Michael Jordan in Space Jam and, more importantly, Shaquille O'Neal in Shazam, King will have to settle for something smaller today. He's recently been approached by the Webflix streaming service to participate in their upcoming reality football series, "Bend But Don't Break." The series follows a varied group of up and coming football players who have fought through adversity in their personal lives to pursue their professional athletics dream. The cameras will follow Dante as he completes his collegiate career at Stanford University and begins to train for the professional combine to prove himself to prospective future employers, providing insight into his relationship with coaches, fellow players, and future competitors in the major leagues of football. Season one will conclude with Dante finding out which team will sign him to his first professional contract, and season two will center around his preparation for the Developmental Simulation Football League Draft and his rookie season as he attempts to adjust to the larger, faster, harder-hitting team. Also, you know, there will be plenty of manipulative, tear-jerking family sequences. Obviously.
