My favorite highlight reel moment was probably the ending of the Sarasota vs Colorado game in week 15. Yes, it was very recent, but I still think this game probably had one of the most bizarre endings this entire season. Let me set up the scene first. The 11-3 Sarasota Sailfish were hosting the 9-5 Yeti. Now, both Sarasota and the Yeti only had one loss at home/road, respectively. So what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? This. Colorado got up early, going up 17-3 after a 48 yard TD catch by William Lim with 9 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. On the next drive, Sarasota scored, aided by 2 big penalties. Then on Colorado's next drive, Caliban threw a pick, giving Sarasota another chance to score before the half. They didn't waste the opportunity, tying up the game before half on a 28 yard TD catch from Witheblock. The game was tied 17-17 going into half, both of these heavyweight teams trading blows. After trading TD drives in the 3rd, it was still tied, but at 24-24 going into the 4th. Sarasota went on an 8 minute drive to get a FG, leaving only 5 minutes on the clock. They went up 3, and Colorado punted immediately, and Sarasota had the ball on the Colorado 44, with 3 and a half minutes left, up 3. It didn't look good for Colorado. Boss threw a terrible pass and got picked however! Ruschmann brought it back to the 12 yard line, and Lim caught a 12 yard TD pass in the endzone on the very next play. Now, Colorado was up 31-27 with little less than 3 minutes to play. Now, this is where things start to get crazy. On the first play of Sarasota's next drive, Witheblock manages to get behind the defense and is open for a 75 yard TD strike! Sarasota goes up 34-31 with a minute and a half to play. On Colorado's drive, Jenkins does the exact same thing! A catch and run for 75 yards and a TD. There were 3 TDs in 3 minutes! Crazy game and crazy ending. That last pass to Jenkins will be remembered forever as a miracle play for Colorado to keep their playoff hopes alive.
