This season has been full of highlights for me as a user. Both of my teams went from 13-loss, #1 overall pick campaigns to deep playoff runs - the Coyotes are in the Ultimini and the Hahalua are one game away. Perhaps there's no bigger highlight than the Coyotes' first playoff game, though. On the road against the powerhouse Portland Pythons, with Kansas City the underdog riding a 5-game win streak. We had suffered two close and agonizing losses to the Pythons earlier this season, but our team had been growing more throughout the season, with top-tier rookies at WR2, QB, RB2, DT, LB, and CB. We knew that none of that mattered as soon as we kicked off though. We could win - our rosters are similar enough - but we needed to show up. The game started how most pundits expected - Portland's veteran defense stymied our offense, and our defense struggled to contain their attack. The Coyotes clawed back, as they've done all season, and took the lead. The game became a back and forth struggle, with both teams' superstars making play after play. ISFL #1 and #2 overall draft picks Luke Quick and Busch Goose both showed up in big ways. It was the defense, however, that eventually won the game. The young KCC squad held hotshot quarterback to just 159 yards on a 43.6 passer rating and sacked him three times. The result? KCC into the Ultimini.
