While it's nice to focus on the amazing performances out on the field this season, I think a highlight reel would be incomplete without focusing in on those beautiful moments outside of the game clock. For Raeni, that means the opportunities she's had througought season to bond with her fellow rookie Seawolves, as well as the rich alumni community of former Seawolves. Late-night phone calls, locker room chats, the annual Seawolves taco-eating competition. It's the exciting jersey swaps done with friends from her prospect bowl team. It's meaningful scouting conversations as she prepares to enter the next chapter of her career with the upcoming ISFL draft. But perhaps most of all, it was the chance she had to return to New York, to the neighborhood she started her childhood in, and to connect with her old neighbors who are eagerly following every detail of her journey. She went to the school she was attending when she first starting playing football herself, and was able to connect with a new wave of bright-eyed students with a love of the game. These moments are just as meaningful as the first touchdown thrown in her DSFL career, or her three touchdown game. The TV will show you the on the field moments, but it's important to reflect on the personal moments too.
