12) Write a short biography or story about your player. This could include background about how they came to the ISFL and how they’ve done so far, a story about their role in an exciting game, or anything else related to their experience in the league.
Malik stepped onto the field as a mere mortal, but he exited as a demigod. The night-- the grand, illustrious, and significant prospect bowl. The first true taste of Malik F. Doom for all the world to see. The shining lights and the roaring crowd were welcome to him. Malik had hardly stepped onto the field as a waiver wire pick up for the ultimini champion Birddogs so the crowd wasn't ready for what they were about to witness. Malik took the field and sprinted up and down the sidelines for fifteen straight minutes as a warmup. He progressed through a rigorous workout routine right at the 50 yard line and then he screamed to the sky as he ran circles around the field. The opposing teams, the Cows and the Terror Birds, were shell shocked. They hadn't seen someone so crazy before them. Malik strutted down the 50 yard line, eyeing up the competition as he went. He brooded as he stomped to the sideline, scowling at the opposing quarterback. Malik knew his targets well just with one look, but he continued to stare for the entire trip back to the bench. He draped a towel over his head and bobbed back and forth as he played his beats. He shuffled through some other hype rap songs, mainly ones by Kanye and Drake from the early 2010's.
Malik tore up the field right from the start, he was a menace to everyone he was slotted against. he was indestructible, a ticking time bomb of ferocious anger fighting and clinging for every inch of ground against the opposing linemen. Malik played three games that night and he never wore out. His drive to win was insatiable, he was a mack truck of brute force careening down the field. He was hyping up teammates on the sideline and banging his helmet off of everything he could. An absolute animal. He fought tooth and nail on every snap, the opponents were petrified. At each halftime, he took one cold shower then a warm one to get him right back on top. The entire time he was in the locker-room his music was blaring enough that those in the stands above him could hear it. He shook the ground as he sprinted back out to the field.
He was fighting with all his strength. All his might...
He wound up with one tackle for loss on the whole night and it was glorious.
15) Write about another sim league you are in and which parts of it you enjoy. If you are only in the ISFL, write about your ideas for a sim league with another sport.
I am a part of the Professional Baseball Experience as a right handed pitcher named Cooper Casey. I've loved my time in the league. I was drafted by the Dallas Dynamos and then by the Providence Crabs, where I am in my first season since being called up.
The first thing I adored about the league is the creativity that goes into the characters/ players in the organization. Then I saw all the graphics for these creative players and really enjoyed it. The same can be said of this league as well, which I adore.
I also really enjoy the streams for the PBE, because of OOTP mainly. It allows us to see our players in action but it also allows the games to be run at a slower pace, allowing GM's and other members to be able to call the games as announcers, live. There are some goofy names in the league, which I think is partially because about a dozen or so people are forced into reading it off in a serious manner to anywhere between 60 and 120 live audience members. It's all great fun and if I have other work I want to do, I can at least put it on in the background and I'll be able to listen to the broadcast live. That's how I have to watch baseball sometimes, as I usually have work to do while the games are on. This has been filling that gap for me really well without baseball in the winter. And now I'll be doing the same for the ISFL.
Another facet of the PBE that I enjoy is the database page that has all the player renders and our league stats plus individual pages for players as well. I frequent it often, and that's how I keep up with the league most of the time. I'm a huge stats guy and baseball is all about that. Football isn't as important with the specific statistics but it's definitely something I'd like to see/know about if it's a thing already.
The PBE also has an updater page that's super handy and I've become so accustomed to it, it's a bit of an adjustment coming over here.
The final thing I will make note of in this response is that each lockerroom I've been a part of for the PBE shows what tasks can be done each week. The LR's I see in the DSFL don't have that, just a simple 'a claim has been posted' and I won't know what it is for. In PBE, if I see a task, it's properly labelled as to what it is and how much TPE/money it's worth along with the link that is present. I like that I can do all the tasks when I am able to, just make a few predictions early in the week, same as here, I'll need to get on it.
