Jay Cue Jr. just went through the draft experience recently, last Wednesday. Despite having a very strong family background to the Portland Pythons, due to his cousin Jay Cue being a hall of famer on the Oregon team, Cue Jr. told the scouts that even though he would be very proud to play for the team that saw his cousin rise to fame (although in different colors than the ones nowadays), he was also happy if some other team drafted him so that he could build his own legacy elsewhere.
And this was exactly what happened, with Cue Jr. being drafted as number 1 overall in the DSFL draft to the east coast, to the Norfolk Seawolves.
Cue Jr. felt like his skills were appreciated by everyone in the organization during the scouting process, so he is extremely honoured to become a part of the #1 overall pick club.
But this means that the Seawolves had a less than stellar record last season, finishing with a 4 - 10 record and last place on the conference. The team is aching for a playoff presence again, and Cue Jr. wants to help them in that tasks. Lots of strong teams in the DSFL though, who are trying to avoid that.
