(S28) PT1 - Draft Day

This past ISFL draft I was selected by the Chicago Butchers. Now if you told that to Gragg before we would have watched the draft, they would have probably screamed “HA! I called it!” That’s because they were convinced CC was going to draft me with their first round pick. They was so sure of themselves, we set up a $500,000 bet that they would win if the Butchers did take me there. The catch? I got drafted by them…. In the second round!
 
I was sooo convinced that they would pass on me mainly because it did not seem like the fit was there. They were and are loaded at safety, it felt like it would have been a wasted pick to take me that high. And considering a safety needy team in Philly was positioned at the top of the second, I was convinced I was going there. Negs and I also had a great conversation being together in Minny for a season, it felt like a sure thing.

Well, when Chicago ended up passing on me, Gragg was shocked (he was like the only one), so then I had my sights on Philly. But they ended up going with the other top safety in the draft, and that bummed me. I began my free fall, but with every pick that passed on me, I saw I was getting closer and closer to CHI. Then when they FINALLY took me, Gragg felt even more cheated. It was definitely hilarious, and a moment I won’t forget.
