Ah the S25 ISFL draft. My only experience of a draft before that was the S24 DSFL draft where I had gone 21st overall to the London Royals. I'd had the best year ever playing for the Royals and part of me didn't want to move on. But I turned my attention to the big leagues in attempt to find a new home. It just so happened that it was an expansion year, with Berlin and New York holding the 1 and 2 spots. I absolutely loved the idea of helping shape a brand new team, so these two quickly moved to the top of my wishlist.
I had great scouting conversations with both Woelkers and High/Dewalt, but Berlin edged it for me with that London connection, with High having been one of the GMs who drafted me to the DSFL. So I made an impassioned pitch to the Berlin GMs, outlining every single way I could help the team in an attempt to convince them to pick me. I was less bothered about the fact it was 1OA and more concerned with ending up at my preferred destination, but ended up with both anyway, when Berlin took Swantavius Jones with the first overall pick.
