The Baltimore Hawks have a number of mascots really.
We have the guy in the big feathery suit that runs up and down the sidelines during games and makes a bunch of community scented and hospital visits alongside the cheerleaders. This is our classic mascot and he has gone under a bit of a rebranding exercise of late to beef him up, they just guy just looked a but... tubby... as well as add to the dynamic impression that he gives on match days. The most important feather (feature) of this newly relaunched mascot is the flag standard he carries and waves, mascots are best with props and what prop is simpler or better than a long flagpole with a hawk head waving from it.
But lately we have adopted a second, far more significant mascot. The Baltimore Hawks have officially adopted the Mars rover as their mascot and will be sporting special NASA patches during color rush games this season in order to show their support for everyones favourite drone. We have genuine footage from the rover's selfie cam of the little guy unfurling the hawkhead flag from a little access port from his telescopic rare antee. As it was broadcast over the screen during a game earlier in the season, it brought the stadium to a complete stand still and stiring of American pride.
