What if the Honolulu Hahalua had drafted Maui Waialiki first overall in the S27 ISFL draft? This was a decision that was apparently close to happening, mere hours up to the actual pick being put in. Honolulu and Waiailiki had many ties, with the user being in Dallas, and a lot of Dallas players end up going to Honolulu. Maui was also from Hawaii, so it only made sense that he ended up going back there. He was a stud prospect and the user had one MDM that season in the DSFL. Honolulu ended up actually selecting Eleven Kendrick-Watts, user 124715. Honolulu was in need of a defensive end, and they ended up swapping their star RB to DE in the offseason to cover for that. Did that affect their running game at all? Maybe a little, but the Honolulu was very, very stacked. If there was a team that could afford a 1200 TPE player switching, it would be them. They had Nicholas Ayers and Cobra Kai to cover anyways. But maybe, instead of switching Gucci to DE, they could have swapped him to receiver instead. They could have chosen either numbers or me and still had someone to fill up that remaining hole. So why numbers? We may never know, but imagine if numbers dropped in the draft, despite being consensus 1OA. That would have messed up a lot of mock drafts, and shaken up the first round. Baltimore would have had the choice to select numbers at 2 or maybe even grab a defensive lineman since they needed one so badly. One can only imagine, as we move forward in time, we'll see how well teams drafted in that S27 first round.
