Cue Jr. left high school not so long ago, so at first he gets a bit surprised that the head coach resigned. He was doing wonders coaching those kids, getting them in shape not only in the field, but also in life, so something really strange must have happened for him to leave the team and the school like that. But, as their highest profile alumn ever, Cue Jr. steps up to the challenge and decides to be the interim coach for a few weeks, until the school can interview and select a new one for the future.
Being this a small school with not a lot of players, he can't just come in and change everything from the start, so he just tries to build on what is already implemented for years. Grades come first, so whoever misses class, or does not complete the syllabus instructed by their teachers, gets immediately on probation and dropped from the team. As great as an ISFL contract can be to secure your family future, only a very small percentage of players get there, so you need to stay in school so that you have a backup plan. That is where your focus should be.
