Not many people got money off of the 6 for 6, from what I heard only 4 people did. Let's dive into this and see why.
Question 1: Videl Receiving Yards - Correct Answer 104-134
Verdict: Reasonable, but maybe not the first guess
Videl averages just over 90 yards per game, so getting over 100 this game was not the most outlandish thing in the world. The Outlaws D, on the other hand, isn't exactly weak against the pass, but it's not as strong against it as it is against the run. Pretty reasonable pick here, although you probably feel a bit cheated if you picked 73-103 and missed it by 5 yards.
Question 2: Nakamura Rushing Yards - Correct Answer 47-77
Verdict: Absolutely shocking
Nakamura has close to 100 yards per game rushing, doesn't often get shut down during a game...and managed to only get 74 yards and the 2nd lowest chunk in predictions. Austin isn't even an especially strong rush D, giving up about 85 yards per game which is respectable but not the kind of thing you'd think would shut Nakamura down. Why? Well, he didn't run all that much and didn't break any big runs, only running 16 times and managing a very good 4.6 yards per carry. Even still, he was only 3 yards off from going up another rung.
Question 3: First TD of the Second Half - Correct Answer Zoe Watts
Verdict: Very unlikely
This one is interesting, in that I don't think any answer was a bad answer to give. That being said, Watts getting the first TD of the second half might have been the most unlikely one: Both in game and throughout the season, the Outlaws have scored more than the Copperheads, and you'd expect one of their players to get the first touchdown if that was a perfectly random one. As for why Watts was less likely than Videl, I point back to Arizona's league leading rush defense. Even with the touchdown Watts didn't have that good of a day on the ground, and if you play that game 100 times, my gut instinct is that Watts would have the least 1st touchdowns of the 2nd half of the 5 options given, though she still could have 10 or so of them.
Question 4: Punt Length - Correct Answer 60-62
Verdict: I dunno
I'm gonna be frank, I don't know enough about the sim or how it handles punts to know anything about this question other than that over 65 would have probably been a poor choice considering these offenses and their comparatively poor kickers.
Question 5: Total Points - Correct Answer 50-57
Verdict: Somewhat strange
Both teams score over 30 points per game, both teams have good to great Defenses, but even so you'd probably expect more scoring than this on average. Last game between these two, they combined for 67 points. And with margins this close, there's no wonder the game ended so closely. If there was a touchdown on the last play of the game it goes up to the next rung, and if the Outlaws didn't score the drive before it would have ended up on the previous rung.
Question 6: Margin of Victory - Correct Answer Outlaws by 1-4
Verdict: Understandable
These were two of the best teams in the league, probably the two best teams in the conference heading into this game. It being close was not a shock. The Outlaws winning was not a shock either, considering they probably are the better team on paper. That being said, so many other choices were reasonable here that I'm guessing less than 25% of respondents guessed this one correctly.
All in all, a fun idea that coincided with a great game. I wonder how well this game would have worked if it was less of a barnburner, but either way, I'm quite happy with the result.
