Walt Green walks across the school campus. Nostalgia fills him as memories of his youth days race through his mind. He remembered what it was like to meet a new head coach. It’s never a comfortable transition. He is here to help make it easier for everyone. The school asked him to be interim coach for a game, which that too created mixed emotions in him. He was excited to do that for his alma mater, but was sad for the previous coach. He managed to maintain a good friendship with every coach at school, thanks to Green’s on field success in the ISFL. The game went as expected. Nothing to crazy or outlandish. The students enjoyed having a star on their sidelines, something they teased the other team about. Green just appreciated being involved with the sport again. He hadn’t done anything football related since he retired. This was his first time back to being active in the sport community. Maybe coaching is his next calling. The game finished with little drama. The team took a large early lead thanks to their hyped up energy that came from having an ISFL start coaching them. All the kids seemed very receptive to any little encouragement or training suggestion he game, even if it was as simple as Green expressing concern about a players stance before a snap.
