as an aside, archiving media would tie in well with citing forum media in wiki pages.
it's not a sufficient solution by itself, but citing them as references on the wiki helps to add context without requiring people to basically rewrite the content of the media
i used references extensively on my first player's page, for example

i like the idea of archiving by season, but im not sure thats the best approach. id probably look at something that only archived particularly good media into a "media spotlight" forum or something, and just rename the thread to include [S2] in the title for example. otherwise you end up with a cluttered list of subforums for past seasons and thats kind of messy.
a media directory of sorts could work for listing all old media threads in general though. would just take a while to put together. could easily be maintained on the wiki in a table (or series of tables) with something like "author, title, season, categories" where the title links to the forum thread (this is easily done with interwiki links, I can set that up no problem, then you just need the thread id)
could be something to look at doing as a side project with a small team of users regardless of whether any formal archiving system is introduced on the forum, tbh. might make it easier to find related media pieces when someone wants to look back at past seasons, without having to try and use the clunky forum search etc.
