As Dante King closes in on his big moment with the ISFL draft approaching, the spotlight is shining on him more brightly than ever before. Although he has always been a privately charitable person, now is the time to take advantage of his press and raise awareness and funds for causes close to him. Growing up in San Francisco's Mission District, Dante knows of many wonderful charities helping to make an impact in the local community. One that is particularly close to his heart is La Cocina, a nonprofit based out of that very neighborhood with a mission to "cultivate low-income food entrepreneurs as they formalize and grow their businesses." This wonderful organization provides kitchen space and resources to women of color and women from immigrant communities to turn their informal businesses into sustainable legal operations. In order to help promote La Cocina, Dante has decided to recruit some of his friends from college and DSFL football to participate in a charity exhibition, using their name recognition to draw pledges from donors in the local community and beyond. By using the talent he has most available to him, Dante hopes that he can help to make the world a better place for those who are also seeking to achieve their dreams.
