The charitable organization I am involved with is FIRST Robotics. The reason I chose FIRST is due to how much of an impact it had on me while I participated throughout my high school years, so I saw how effective it can be at introducing students to STEM education in ways they didn't have access to before as well as teaching critical thinking skills and some real-ish world experience on either the build side for creating the robots in the competition and the business side of the team going to get sponsors make a business plan and coordinate events to participate in . It's amazing the kinds of ideas kids from around the world can all bring from having a different perspective on the same issue.
The main ways I contribute is by helping mentor some of my local teams throughout the season as well as volunteering at local events and the championship event. It's great to see the growth and achievements of everyone participating throughout the year. I also would like to try to found new teams in other schools to get more people invested in this organization as well as helping other teams get to out of area events to increase their exposure to new people and ideas once I start earning some money in the ISFL since I'm kinda broke right now.
I look forward to seeing and shaping the next generation of innovators.
