My four years in Phildalphia have not been very fruitful in terms of team success. In fact, we’ve yet to make the playoffs since I’ve been here. The team is well positioned right now for future success, but in terms of past success, I have very little barometer. Sam Torresnon and Brock Phoenix are the two best players I’ve shared the sidelines with, but I’m not sure if they’re necessarily statue-worthy. So I have no choice but to dip into the history books to discover who is the face of the franchise. The Liberty have just two men In the hall of fame, so that narrows it down. One peek into the legacy of Tight End Paul DiMirio finalized my decision. Drafted by the Liberty in 2017 in the third round, DiMirio went on to win five Tight End of the Year awards and an Ultimus in 2022. He was eventually traded to New Orleans, where he added to his trophy case. DiMirio won seven Tight End of the Year awards - the most by any player at any position. He also went on to win another Ultimus with the Second Line. Drafted by and Inducted into the Hall of Fame with Philadelphia, it’s clear that the stadium out from should feature a larger than life statue of one of the all time greats of the ISFL, Paul Dimirio.
