As soon as he saw the shortlist for the Norfolk Seawolves statue, Nick L. Back found a way to add his name onto said shortlist. After all, why build a statue for someone who is long gone from the team, who hasn’t even thought of the Seawolves in any way, shape, or form in the last few years over someone who is the face of the offense in the current iteration of the franchise? After all, in less than a season in Norfolk, Nick L. Back has been named offensive team captain, has been a vocal person in the locker room, has earned multiple game balls, which should have been more but management doesn’t like to give consecutive game balls to the same player, leads the team in received yards and receiving touchdowns.
Yes, Nick L. Back has his flaws, like his (lack of) musical talent, his poor showing at a fans house (sorry little Timmy), and his global disdain for scouts putting him lower than he should be on tier lists & mock drafts. But in the eyes of Nick L. Back, he has been a source of inspiration for the offense, the drive to improve and continue earning yards, continue getting touchdowns and continue to prove naysayers wrong. And in his eyes, that deserves a statue for the present.
