After an awesome color rush event in week 2-3 in the DSFL I wanted to jump back and rank the different field designs. After realizing a bit more effort went into the logos than the field for some teams I also followed up ranking the color rush logos. Thanks to everyone who put this together and did the field designs. Some really cool designs came out of these weeks.
Fields:
#8 Bondi Beach Buccaneers
![[Image: BBB.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/c4VDDqqv/BBB.jpg)
This list starts out pretty boring. Seems that only half the league got the memo that we can redesign the fields. I did have to do a little digging to make sure the DSFL logo on the 25 yard line wasn’t updated. Thankfully it wasn’t and I can leave them at the bottom of the list with no updates. Bondi has a pretty good grip on the worst field in the DSFL on a normal week and with no changes here they remain at the bottom. If part of the strategy is the visiting teams not being able to the first down line then you got that going for you but it’s not translating to wins. Bondi Beach, this is an SOS! Please anything but yellow!
#7 Minnesota Greyducks
![[Image: MIN.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/mDXjCJN2/MIN.jpg)
Don’t get me started! This is sad and I think the worst part about the whole thing is we were last game week 3, so were the last field revealed. I was so excited to see what we ended up doing after seeing some really neat fields. But here we are I think Minnesota is currently bottom two in the league with Bondi Beach for worst field in the DSFL. It’s fitting these two were the ones that decided not to change the field. I’ll be submitting my own version of what could have been here in the near future. For a choccy milk field it look an awful lot like some dirty duck water.
#6 Tijuana Luchadores
![[Image: TIJ.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/Pr8yv6LT/TIJ.jpg)
Getting bored of me reviewing fields that you have seen every week since joining the DSFL? It’s almost done I promise. I think this field probably sits in the same spot when it comes to ranking the everyday fields the DSFL normally plays on. A little bit better than Minnesota? I gave the edge to Tijuana because of the adjustment with the mid field logo. I will say I do really like the Mexican flag colors as the 20 yard line marker. Either way, congrats to Tijuana on their 6th place finish? When you look at effort to rank, they techicanaly get the most ROI. Is this possibly with zero effort?
#5 London Royals
![[Image: London-Royals.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/k5yfXB2S/London-Royals.jpg)
Now we go… I really like this field. I dig the purple and gold color rush and love the new end zone designs. The only reason I have them out of the top half is because of the lack of boldness in the turf itself. London, with this design really could have ended up anywhere between 3-5. I think this field and the next 2 really are interchangeable based on your personal preference. I will mention again, I love this field and think it may even be better than the next 2 but for a color rush field, I want to see those colors really pop!
#4 Dallas Birddogs
![[Image: DAL.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/cCPc53bp/DAL.jpg)
My locker room was very torn when this field was revealed. I think Dallas has a great field in the normal weeks and I’m one that doesn’t hate this field but I’m not in love with it either. I do think they have a completely different field and it was something we all were talking about so kudos for them on that. I’m mad about the timing of writing this article because I’d love to make a joke about them not being able to see the end zone but after they put up 60 on my Greyducks this week, I’ll just keep that one to myself. I personally dislike the end zones but I get it going with the theme. Between the goalines I think the field is really cool and the color combo works.
#3 Chicago Kansas City Coyotes
![[Image: KCC.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/qRMQt4K5/KCC.jpg)
This was also a conversation starter when revealed. For someone new like myself it was a big rush of confusion. But then I was quickly informed that the original pitch was for this to be Chicago’s expansion team, or something along that line. So adding in a little bit of history there. I dig it. They also repped the current Chicago colors of red and black which I think look pretty sweet together. Now they got a little crazy when they got to the endzones. But they tied in some locker room humor into it and when else were they gonna be able to have a Pogyotes end zone? I’d rather see something completely off the wall like this vs some of the other fields we have reviewed so far.
#2 Portland Pythons
![[Image: Portland.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/rwXJ1SWW/Portland.jpg)
Now these colors pop! This was all about the colors for me. They did also add in a sweet “The Snake Pit” snake logo. My only complaint about the field would be the lack of creativity. This again goes back to Kansas City’s creativity vs Portlands popping cool and “cool factor” for me.
#1 Norfolk Seawolves
![[Image: Norfolk.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/fWP5L4R8/Norfolk.jpg)
Okay everyone listen closely. This will be the only time I ever say anything nice about Norfolk. This field rocks. What fun colors for a color rush. Not only do they have awesome colors that pop, they also added on to the original design of the field. The sonic radar in the background of the midfield, is an awesome touch. In addition to that the added the #fearthefleet hashtag. At least it looks good because the 2 wins this season doesn’t have anyone scared. If I had one complaint it’d be finding something to replace the DSFL logo in the endzone. But overall an awesome field. Norfolk… Congrats. This feeling is called winning. Take it all in because once we hit the field that’s all over for you!
Logos:
Not all teams got to participate in the field redesign and I wanted to touch on some of the logos that were presented for the color rush week. Norfolk took home the W for the field design, does their logo sweep the competition? This ranking is all about color rush for me.
#8 Minnesota
![[Image: Min-Logo.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/FzzP6NsL/Min-Logo.jpg)
I know behind the season in the Duck’s locker room this was a bit of a last minute thing. And I’ll be the first to accept blame. In a last ditch effort I was able to get what we see before you. The positive of this is the 2 toned face that came of it. A blue and pink duck, now that’s sweet. Another issue we ran into was not being unique we were up against another pink team that executed better than us!
#7 Norfolk
![[Image: NOR-logo.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/cLwF2DZX/NOR-logo.jpg)
It looked great on the field but a logo itself, it just doesn’t have the same pop or wow factor. I think the logo loses the brighter blue that ties the green and navy together. Maybe it’s the green water throwing me off? Not bad, but just up against some good competition.
#6 Portland
![[Image: Portland-Logo.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/0NvVspyx/Portland-Logo.jpg)
My top 2 from fields have dropped to bottom 3 in logos. At least Minnesota stayed consistent. I think I lose the snake and that is my issue. I also knocked them in my rankings because of not being the only pink team. From field to logo I lose some of the love.
#5 Tijuana
![[Image: TIJ-Logo.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/j2DXXcZ6/TIJ-Logo.jpg)
I think this is a super cool color combo. I wish I could have seen a whole field of this. Not a huge change for them but just enough to draw the focus.
#4 Bondi Beach Buccaneers
![[Image: BBB-Logo.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/zB0tpV5N/BBB-Logo.jpg)
Bondi! When was the last time you were in the top half of the league? I love the call back and I’ll admit it was hard not to put you at #1 with the whole Icebear tribute to me. Much appreciated. It was neat to see a whole different logo but it still having some purpose.
#3 London Royals
![[Image: LON-logo.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/5NH7q4rc/LON-logo.jpg)
I really dig this logo and these colors. I really wanted to put this at 1 but I just can’t over the final 2 logos. I think this is a neat logo but just doesn’t have the “it” factor to break top 2.
#2 Kansas City Coyotes
![[Image: KCC-logo.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/FFCCLdDg/KCC-logo.jpg)
This one was tough. I really like these colors together and it was so different from any of the other color rush submissions that it stuck out and stuck out nicely. I’ll say the only reason it is here and not at number 1 is because of it being the exact same logo. Personally this is my favorite overall logo for color rush. A pogyote popping out over the mountain would have brought home the gold for KCC (this is a joke, please don’t do that).
#1 Dallas Birddogs
![[Image: DAL-logo.jpg]](https://i.postimg.cc/PJ76s9PF/DAL-logo.jpg)
Good colors, new logo, and a top spot on my list. KCC color combo is much better in my opinion but the switching out to a different logo is what brought home the win for Dallas. I’m not in love with the green and orange but I completely understand where that comes from! Congrats to Dallas!

I took the 2 different placements and averaged them out to find the true winner of color rush Icebear rankings.
