I know this was a moment where you had that voice in your head telling you this felt wrong but after seeing the benefits you ignored it, and the more it happened the more you were able to tune it out and feel safe. Before you know it you're doing something you know is wrong but have come up with a justification so that it doesn't feel wrong anymore. I've been there before and as you've seen the consequences can be brutal - all it takes is for it to all come crashing down before you truly realize the error in your ways and how idiotic it was to do it in the first place
