Choosing a player or players from the New Orleans Second Line history or present for that matter is a tricky thing. Out of all the amazing players that have suited up for the New Orleans Second Line, who is most deserving of being immortalized in front of the stadium for all to see? Should it be a player who helped win a Ulitmus for the Second Line? Or perhaps a GM who put the Ultimus winning team in place? Could a player who hasn't won an Ultimus for New Orleans be considered? Should this person only have ever played for or GM'd in New Orleans? With all the questions, the front office in New Orleans wanted to reach out to their faithful fans as well, after all, they would be the ones walking past the statue on game days. The fans were unanimous in their decision. They voted for fan favourite, Forrest Gump. Gump was a mainstay in New Orleans for quite a while and having just hung up his cleats a little bit ago, the fans didn't want to forget his accomplishments and drive for the Second Line to succeed any time soon. The front office could not agree more with the fans and a statue commemorating the great Forrest Gump is currently in production and will be being unveiled before the end of the season. Gump will be remembered for decades to come with this honour and I for one couldn't think of a better player to be remembered!
