If we’re going to add a statue outside of the Butchers stadium, I feel like you’d have to go with Tree Gelbman. The statue would probably be placed next to the cereal vendor outside the stadium because that’s the most likely location where she would be found. Tree was a standout figure for the Butchers despite not even being a Butcher from the get go. Tree hit the ground running with Chicago and was a rock in the locker room early on, keeping the team motivated even when things weren’t going well and the team was struggling big time. While never the flashiest player on the field, Tree was smart and consistent. When the team needed better blocking, she stepped up and went into the trenches, a real Swiss army knife on the team. The fact that Tree was one of the few award winners for Chicago with that Season 26 season showcased the amount of effort that was going into the field both on and off it. Being named a captain as well in the departure of Sean O’Leary was a show of how much confidence the team had in her and how important Tree was to the identity of the team. Tree is the stand out option for a statue outside of the stadium, and I’m not just saying that because she’s sharpening an axe next to me.
