Which figure from your team, past or present, do you believe is worthy of being immortalized? What led to you choosing them?
Easton Cole is easily the best QB for the Copperheads and I think would be the obvious first pick for the statue. As the leader of the only Copperheads Ultimus win, he's a natural pick. He's a top 5 QBs in nearly all important statistical categories and really the only knock on his career accomplishment sheet is that we didn't manage to win more in the playoffs for him.
Now, picking the QB, especially the first QB for the franchise and also the first to get Austin an Ultimus win, is maybe too obvious of a pick - we only have the one QB with a deep career sheet so far. Mako Mendonca is a strong second option if we decide that there can be two statues or that QBs have too many and other positions should get a chance too. Mako is more top 10 in RB categories than top 5, but was still a keystone in Austin's first team iteration. Still, he was the central figure for the Copperheads' dominant running game plan and the team absolutely would not have worked without him. I think the best conceptual idea for a statue would be the two of them (or maybe the whole S20 Ultimus winning team if we have the budget) hoisting the trophy together. But, since we're only allowed to name one figure, I think Cole has to be the pick. His statistical accomplishments were really the best of his generation of QBs and so I think he stands out more as compared to the deeper collection of running backs that Mendonca gets to be compared to.
