The last thing any football team needs is turmoil from within. If a Royals-on-Royals crime broke out in our organization, it would be less than ideal. How would I handle this situation? If I witnessed the altercation, step one would be to remove the target, or the person the aggressor is going after. In order to prevent any thing further from happening. If I wasn’t present when the situation perspired, I would find out who was involved, and gather as much information as I could in order to get a good understanding on the events that occured. The next step would be to start a dialogue, preferably with all parties that were included. Sort of an airing of the grievances type thing. There’s a lot of alpha male personalities in a locker room. There is also sometimes just annoying ass dudes, however, every one in that locker room is there because they can help us win and get to our ultimate goal of winning championships. Sometimes we got to put our pride aside an deal with stuff for the greater good of the squad. That can be hard to do day in and day out. Especially if you are embarking on a losing streak, and things look bleak. Then after we aired out the grievances, we would go into the common area of the locker room and get every one’s attention. Then Im making these dudes hug it out. The final message I would make is how we are a family. We are brothers and sisters, and just like siblings we are going to squabble from time to time. But what makes the difference between family and non-family is we still love each other. We always have each-others back. No matter what. We may fight, but at the end of the day we have a common goal and common interest. That’s to win ball games and to get to the ISFL. Thankfully, in the London locker room, we don’t ever have to deal with these types of situations. You would think that would not be the case, with Welch and his rivalries and all the high-profile personalities we have in that locker room, but we just make it work. We are all Royalty, and that won’t change for anything. One thing I do know, if anything did hit the ceiling, we have the leadership and guidance to get through it without skipping a beat.
