Time for a players' only meeting. Kick the coaches out for a bit and let's figure this stuff out. Berlin is playing WAY too well this season for bad chemistry to ruin this run, but with success sometimes comes inflated egos and a feeling that we "deserve" to have a certain result or level of respect. The fact is, whether we are the top player on the team or the bottom, we all have a role to fill and that is and always should be our primary goal if we want to make it past a first round playoff loss this year. So I'd gather the team in the locker room and first split up offense and defense. I'd lead our defensive meeting and have Nick lead the offensive meeting as everybody needs to be looking to him as a leader. On defense, I'm looking around the room and having everybody get a chance to share their piece. What is upsetting you? What is causing this friction in our defense? Is there a particular person you are upset with? If so, let's hash it out right now and figure out what's happening. Because if there's even a tiny fracture in our team come playoff time, it's going to snap under pressure and we'll be sent packing. Once everyone has done that, Nick and I will get the whole team together again and talk about how far we've come and how we got here. A little perspective never hurt anybody. It's easy to get upset in the course of a long and grueling season, but we're not about to let that get in our way. This is our year.
