The Liberty are the closest knit team in the NSFL, and it's not close. How do I know, you might ask? It's not like I've been in all 8 of them.
Because we're just that close. I have been shocked at how close the team's come. For example, every gameday, right after the game, the whole team will go out to play mini golf. This isn't anything special on the surface, but LB Perry Tucker had an amazing idea.
The Liberty players, some of the strongest men in the city of Philadelphia, cannot use putters on the tiny courses. They must use drivers, the biggest and strongest golf clubs, to play putt-putt, the smallest golf course.
As you'd imagine, this has been hilarious at times, such as when TE Paul DiMirio struck his golf ball hundreds of yards into the air on the very first hole. As the ball approached the ground, screams could be heard from across the park. He'd hit a hole-in-one on the last hole. Another instance came when DE Ottokar Von Gerhart slammed his golf ball off of the course and into a Philadelphia main road, where it shattered the windshield of an oncoming car...
...and hit a miniature bell with the phrase "RING THE BELL!" emblazoned on it. Seeing who it was, the driver leaped out of the car sporting a Von Gerhart jersey. He was estatic when the DE signed his jersey and broken windshield. He even bought the man a new windshield!
There are other antics, too. You would never believe.
