Canada came knocking at the door of the New Orleans Second Line, and I, Remus Roman, answered that door. The Canadian Football League in particular was looking for an ISFL ambassador to help usher in a new era of football to Canada as a whole, with their long term goal to integrate the Canadian Football League into the ISFL, creating an even more international spectacle. Remus, as a solid representative for the league, eloquent in his speech, and a positive role model for the league, was chosen as the representative for New Orleans.
What transpired upon arrival was a fantastic camp filled with both collaboration on the business side, as well as a training camp of sorts where Canada’s top football players could speak with and train alongside the top ISFL players. Remus came and worked closely with the running backs, teaching new drills and agility techniques to promote long term growth and development, while keeping health and safety at the top of mind. For a running back, longevity is the biggest issue – constantly getting beaten and hit nearly every play can result in some minor injuries that compile over time. So Remus focused on developing good training and diet to promote long term heath.
