From the Kansas City Coyotes Tessie Garciaparra was elected as a KCC captain which came along with the honor of representing us to go to the country that the organization picked for the KCC workshop. The country that was selected was El Salvador, as they also have a fair-sized coyote population helping them to relate to our program.
When Garciaparra arrived at El Salvador, there was volunteer work already set up to clean forests & deserts and pick up litter in nearby areas that the coyotes lived in. That was the first goal of the workshop, to show that what the program meant was more than just football and that the environment of coyotes was very much valued.
Afterwards, the football training began. Garciaparra first showed them the equipment at the KCC workshop, and got the training gear all laid out on the football field that the KCC workshop recently constructed. Garciaparra showed them throwing and catching drills first, then after showed them how to tackle safely. After all the basics were shown and the rules were explained, Garciaparra organized scrimmage games for everyone who participated in the workshop, and a 6v6 tournament to top it off. Lastly, Garciaparra also handed out free DSFL footballs with the KCC logo on them to all participants who attended the workshop.
