Looking fo expand the game to other regions to either scope out new prospects or possible expansion locations, it no much of a surprise that the Asia Pacific would be a region of interest for the future growth of the sport. Honolulu having several international players on the team had Dawkins as a candidate to travel to the region and conduct workshops that would bring a level of exposure for the game to the region. Being from Australia and now a veteran member of the squad, Dawkins was selected to conduct workshops/sessions in New South Wales, the state where he grew up. The offseason was typically a chance to return home for Dawkins so it worked out quite well. An opportunity to return home, get some training in and help expand football into the region.
Australia having contact sports Rugby League, Union and the AFL, it's not a stretch to think that there may be interest or a market for gridiron. To help Dawkins several members of the coaching staff also travelled to Australia to assist in running workshops. The typical workshop would begin with an introduction of gridiron through a highlights video, a rundown of the rules and positions before moving on to some training drills and a game of flag football.
