Mark was born as a joint citizen between the US and the UK. He spent much of his time early life in the US watching an growing up with the ISFL. However, he moved to England after the death of his mother. At school he played a lot of sport, mainly cricket & rugby. The main decision that led Mark to the ISLF was his decision to study engineering at SMU in Texas.
In an alternate reality, his decision to study further education could very well have seen him join any university in the UK. Here at University, American football is not well tutored or at all offered. So Mark carried on his illustrious cricket career eventually making his 1st class debut at the age of 19 for Durham.
He graduated from college with a Meng degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was then faced with a tough choice, pursue his potential sporting career in Cricket or start working up the ladder in the engineering world. In the end the choice was a simple one and he choose cricket.
In the end this turned out to be a wise decision, he ended up opening the batting for England in Test & ODI. He scored a tad under 15,000 international runs. He was able to start a small family and live very happily until the end of his days.
